Roots to Sky: Communicating with Trees, Rocks, Water & More

I've spent a lifetime learning to hear what cannot be spoken.

As a young ecologist, I believed the language of nature could be studied through science. I learned from masters of ecology, animal communication, botany,  mycology, and more ~ and ventured into the wild places of the earth: the Congo Basin, Hawaii’s native forests, Costa Rica’s cloud forest, Thailand, Brazil, and beyond.  I spent years living in tents, on platforms, hiking for miles and getting helicoptered into the most remote locations on Earth.

Each morning before dawn, I would walk into the forest and sit in absolute stillness. Hours would pass as I watched the birds, the monkeys, the trees sharing their quiet dialogues. Unknowingly, this became my first deep apprenticeship ~ not of the mind, but of the soul’s listening. 

Thousands of hours in meditation, cloaked in the guise of ecology.

It wasn’t until much later, through the doorway of meditation and spiritual practice, that I realized what I had truly been learning:
the art of communion with the living earth.

Years later, I started to devote my life to the spiritual path and now my teaching is informed by Daoist mysticism, indigenous wisdom, and the direct transmission from nature herself.  

I invite all seekers to rediscover the sacred conversation that has always been available.
